Spirit of 2012 seeking to appoint new Chair
Our Founding Chair’s tenure comes to an end in October 2017, and we are now looking to appoint an outstanding individual to lead our accomplished and energetic Board of Trustees in shaping the agenda of Spirit of 2012 as we move into the next exciting chapter of our life-cycle.
Spirit of 2012 is the London 2012 legacy charity, established with a £47m endowment from the Big Lottery Fund. We fund partners that provide opportunities for people across the UK to improve their wellbeing by being active, connected and creative through sports, physical activity, arts and culture, volunteering and social action. So far, we have invested over £25 million in 48 community projects in over 100 locations across the UK, benefiting more than 1 million people
Debbie Lye, Spirit of 2012 Chief Executive, explained: “This is a really exciting opportunity for the right person to lead the Board in shaping the next phase of Spirit’s mission and making sure that our funding works as effectively as possible to improve people’s life satisfaction and wellbeing. We’ve come a long way in these first four years, and now the stage is set for us to continue to flourish under the guidance and leadership of a new Chair.”
