Spirit of Volunteering

About the Programme

Volunteers were one of the success stories of the London 2012 Games. It is brilliant to see people come together and give their time and energy to support a local, regional or national service or event. People across the country give their energy and passion to a huge range of causes.

Our investments will empower current volunteers and inspire potential volunteers through meaningful opportunities. It is a great way for people to develop personally and professionally. We fund projects to provide opportunities to a wide range of participants, including young people and disabled people.

To find out about our commitment and belief in the importance of high quality and inclusive volunteering opportunities, please read our Volunteering Principles

We have invested £1.6 million to date on Spirit of Volunteering projects, and plan to commit another £1 million over the life of our endowment.
